Shine would like to thank and acknowledge Haileybury for their support during 2016.
Haileybury is an exemplary school of great diversity with an international outlook and values underpinned by a strong commitment to social justice. The School’s commitment has been clearly demonstrated through the students’ wishes to help our children and families.
The Year 9 representatives of the school council helped organise and advertise two fund raising events.
1) A free dress day when students gave a gold coin donation to wear non uniform. A wonderful poster was designed, ‘Wear A Colour For Another’ prompting students to wear a colour matching the Cambodian flag.
2) A colour run where students paid an entry fee to spend the afternoon racing around a course whilst staff had the pleasure of throwing paint powder at them. The students certainly got their own back, as can be seen in the photographs.
Students volunteered their time and skills to promote Shine through the creation of posters and through a film editing competition which resulted in the making of Shine’s current promotional video.
